The Renegade was designed in America, but will be built in Italy. It is based off the Fiat 500X and is smaller and less expensive than the Cherokee.
Power will come from a 160-hp, 1.4-liter turbo four, or a 184-hp, 2.4-liter four. Transmissions will be either a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic. There will be four trim levels, Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk. Two 4X4 systems will be available. It will also feature My Sky, an open-air dual panel roof that can be retracted, or removed and stored in the rear cargo area.
Jeep says the Renegade is marketed towards youthful drivers seeking life’s adventures.
